About the Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager based in Colombo to join our growing project delivery team.
This role offers senior-level responsibility across both pre-contract and post-contract cost management, supporting complex regional projects in the UAE, KSA, and wider Middle East, while being based in Sri Lanka.
You will take a lead role in cost planning, BOQ preparation, tender documentation, interim valuations, variations, final accounts, and commercial reporting, working closely with internal teams and international project stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is commercially astute, detail-driven, and confident managing cost control activities across multiple project stages while mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and review of cost plans, BOQs, estimates, and pricing documents.
Manage pre-contract activities including tender documentation, analysis, negotiation, and recommendations.
Lead post-contract duties such as interim valuations, variations, final accounts, and cost reporting.
Review and assess contractor submissions, claims, and variations to ensure contractual and commercial compliance.
Maintain accurate cost records, forecasts, and expenditure tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide commercial and contractual advice, ensuring adherence to contract conditions.
Support contract administration, claims management, and project close-out activities.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and consultants to ensure cost certainty and value delivery.
Manage, mentor, and guide junior quantity surveyors to achieve project and team objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in quantity surveying or cost management.
Strong working knowledge of BOQ preparation under POMI, NRM, and CESMM.
Proven experience managing both pre-contract and post-contract stages independently.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple workstreams under deadlines.
Desirable Skills & Attributes
Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Proficiency in software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD (preferred); and exposure to CubiCost or similar tools is an advantage.
Strong analytical and commercial mindset with the ability to work independently.
Leadership capability with a proactive, professional attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
